Can anyone identify these fungi that were growing in one of my veg beds in October please?

They look like False Chanterelles Peanut (although the gills on yours are closer spaced than on most images).

Thanks Mr Bones, yes they probably are false. Apparently if you cut them the flesh is a different colour too, so if they come back next Autumn I'll give that a try.

I need to go to my pharmacy soon - if the fungus expert is there I’ll ask her for you!

Be careful peanut…none of us on here are experts as far as I know

That would be great Nico, thank you!

I'd never eat anything without being 100% and I'm not a big fan of mushrooms either so no chance of them being consumed. Be good to know what they are though. I have a fondness and curiosity for them as my first job when I was a kid was picking mushrooms in a mushroom farm, I quite happily ate them raw as I picked them back then. I loved how they grew and how beautiful they looked. I can still smell them though!!

            I know what you mean!
In our second rental flat we had access to the boiler room and had several mushroom packs on the go…never ending supply to mushrooms….lovely!
