I have a Bhut Joloka and a Hot chocolate Habenero overwintered. I've not cut these back and both have been fine in my front room. I cut back 3 other plants and they all died on me.

Chillies - growing and overwintering 2022

I only started growing chillies last year, on the windowsill. I have 2 Razzmatazz, and since they started fruiting in the summer, they haven't stopped. They each still have half a dozen or so red chillies on and more green ones growing. When I take off the ripe ones they put out more flowers.
Is it wrong to let them keep fruiting? Should I have let them rest over winter?Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.

We do quite a lot of meals with sweet peppers in, so they get used up. That said, I do still have quite a lot of packs of cut up sweet pepper in the freezer.
The jalapenos I grew last year were all pickled, and I still have one jar left. I plan to do the same this year with both those and Nigel's Outdoor.

Took a peek at the pepper plants I was attempting to overwinter outdoors today. The base of the stems are brown and the bark is peeling off. They're definitely dead.
Oh well, it was only an experiment, anyway, and the plants I am overwintering indoors are mostly fine (one is on its way out, but the rest are fine).

I brought in some Lunch Box Peppers hoping to overwinter them. I gave them a little water a couple of weeks ago but as yet no signs of life. How long do I go on trying to revive them before I accept they're dead?Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
Always aim for the best result possible not the best possible result
