  • Sprouting seeds

Ok I have done mung beans, MANY,MANY years ago , and not with any great success I may say! But looking at the plastic sprouters I have an urge to try again. NOW! When you look in a certain seed catalogue, all the seeds to use with this sprouter are £1.99. As a dyed in the wool Tyke, is this a rip-off? Can you use any seeds ? Are these just the most suitable? Has anyone done pea sprouts? And can you use any peas for these? Thanks, Judi.

You can use food-grade seeds (eg. from supermarkets)
Don't use "planting" seeds as they may have fungicide etc on them.

I had a glass sprouter but didn't get on with it as you had to keep turning it to stop the seeds going mouldy. Try this website -its got some good stuff Find A Bean Sprouter & Other Healthy Products At UK Juicers
