    It's not overly expensive, although it's not dirt-cheap, either. If anyone near you is doing some building work you may be able to get some off-cuts for free. That's what I did.

    Net curtains should be fine, but just make sure they are large enough to cover the whole arc right down to the ground. The flies will get in if you leave any gaps.

    Having seen the price I don't think it is worth the cost for amount of carrots I have sown and I don't have enough gardening life left in me to make it a worth while investment. If I can get some left over pipe from somewhere I will reconsider. I have found some low wire hoops at the back of the shed which may work. Depending on how tall the carrots get.
