Black opal tomatoes

I’m growing black opal toms for the first time this year, has anyone else tried these? They will be outside in pots, I’ve been reading reviews which vary a lot! Do they need side shoots pinching out and how big do they grow ? Thanks

Thanks, I thought they were a small variety, as they are a ‘cherry’ variety, some reviews say they are delicious and sweet, others say tasteless !

Anyway, I guess I’ll report back later in the year!

I do like Black toms, I'm growing my usual Black cherry then Indigo Cherry Drops for the first time.

I agree, full of flavour, these ones are new to me, also doing Orange Queen, as a new one

I haven't come across Black Opel tomatoes.
I am growing Black Vernissage for the first time this year.
Its listed as indeterminate and highly productive.
I will keep you updated.

I do like Black toms, I'm growing my usual Black cherry then Indigo Cherry Drops for the first time.

I've noticed two differences between those toms Indigo have black stems and the fruits are black from the start. Black Cherry look like any other tom until the fruits are full size then they change colour.
