  • If I sow carrots Jun/Jul would I get them for Oct?

I’ve been too focused on my cucumbers, toms and other salad and forgot to sow any carrots.

If I sow now and July would I get them from October onwards or is it too late?

can I feed them with growmore?

My experience of late sown carrots (2nd half May/early June) is that they tend to be rather small. However my garden is shady and they may do better if you have a sunnier plot. The general advice is not to feed carrots as it can make them fork, although I have never found forking to be too much of a problem unless the ground is stony.

Depends where you are Lolapeg but I'd go for it, if you don't sow they won't grow Our latest went in two weeks ago and they're already a centimeter tall. More to be sown in a few weeks too.

I've certainly gotten decent carrot crops from sowing until early July, and finger carrots up until about the 20th July. I live in Somerset, for reference.

I’m based in East London, we get the warmer weather and they’ll be in the GH.
          I’ll give it a shot

I grow a 20 foot row of carrots in 3 stages: late March, then late May then again at the end of July. The July sowing overwinters here in Suffolk and I pull the remaining carrots up the following spring when the tops start growing again, as the cores then start to become woody.
