Hi, Just looking at Vitapod propagators. Does anyone have one of these? If so, what do you think about it. Quite expensive. Noticed that Greenhouse Sensation, the online company can’t take orders at the mo for some reason. They are the cheapest supplier. Hope they are not struggling.

I have two vitapod propagators and I love them. One has double height sides which is really useful when plants get that little bit taller. I have them both on timers, only using heat when my greenhouse temperature gauges tell me I need it. The props allow me to start off my chillies/tomatoes and hanging basket seeds that little bit earlier than usual.
HOWEVER, right now with energy costs being so high (and my pension not that great) I'd probably think more about how I'd use the propagators and whether the cost of using them is outweighed by the benefits they bring.

I have had a double height one for many years and found it invaluable in raising plants from seed.
I believe they only use 100 watts when on, which won't be all the time.
I put a sheet of expanded polystyrene under mine as the bottom felt warm.
If I were buying one now I'd look at growing lights as leds make them more viable.
