Some kale and a couple beetroot.
Some of the beetroot have gone slightly spongy, I suspect as a result of the freeze. We shall see how this affects their eating and keeping qualities.

Also picked some oca yesterday. Or rather, all of it, from 5 plants, and it barely amounted to a portion for one person.
I would have had about twice that, but the tubers near the surface were destroyed by the freeze. Even that's pretty pathetic, though. I blame the hot summer, as oca doesn't like hot, dry conditions.
Oh well, I won't be growing it next year, anyway. It's tasty and pretty low-maintenance, but the yield isn't that great for the space it takes up (even in a good year), and most importantly preparing it in the kitchen is an utter pain.

Parsnips and a red cabbage. Parsnips were particularly sweet after the recent frosts.

Daughter came for a veg box so went home with.......swede, turnip, beetroot, kale, cabbage, sprouts, carrots, parsley, sage and Bay leaves. Very thankful she didn't attack the freezer!

Most days this week it’s been just a few lettuce leaves for a sandwich.
Today parsnips, bay leaves and thyme for tomorrows dinner.
