Picked the last of my Czar plums yesterday. Would have had a lot more, but the bees have gotten most of them this year (well, them and the brown rot which gets in after they do their damage). Still plenty of Victoria's left, though.
Three courgettes,a handful of runner beans, the first moonglow, black trifele & mountain princess tomatoes & others, another cucumber third or fourth, they’ve been funny this year but so have tomato leaves crisping & some yellowing strange behaviour, maybe the lack of sun?
Over the last few days we’ve picked carrots, Swiss chard, Charlotte spuds, more courgette, raspberries, plums, windfall apples, tomatoes , cucumber, french beans and beetroot.
"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Tomatoes crimson crush grown outside, carrots, perpetual spinach and a courgette from the plot.
Picked all the runner beans I could see and as they are going over now will have to sort the ones that are tender enough to cook and eat. Thinking about runner bean chutney for the rest.
A couple small melons from the greenhouse I missed before, another dozen or so pears, and all of my akebia fruit. Quite a big harvest this year, actually, but they ripened earlier than I expected and about a third of them had already gone mouldy by the time I saw that they were ready.
