    • Dug over the patch where I had my onions and planted out 11 purple sprouting broccoli plants, and sowed a row of winter radishes.

      • Sowed some radish and checked the brassicas for cabbage whites. Topped up the quadgrow. Watered the peppers and gave them a seaweed boost to try and tempt them into more growth and maybe flowers. The Hungarian wax seem to have halted completely after 4 peppers each which I picked at the yellow stage.

        • Planted assorted lettuce into buckets, more to do tomorrow then the leftovers will be planted in a bed.

          • Bagged up some more of my grape bunches in mesh bags to keep the slugs and wasps out (and got stung by a vengeful wasp in the process).
Cut down half of my maincrop potatoes as they are getting blight now. The other half looks mostly okay for now, but will probably need cutting down in a week or so.
Speaking of potatoes, the variety I am growing this years has produced a huge number of fruit. Dozens and dozens of them. They look rather like tomatillos on the inside. Pity they're poisonous.

            • Pulled up bolted lettuce and mooli, collected dry Telephone pea pods for next years seeds.

              • Picked lots of toms to make Passata, weeded inside the brassica cage adding BFB and sprinkling a few organic slug pellets around.
                Location....East Midlands.

                • Cut down some more of my potato plants, and one of my outdoor tomato plants. It was meant to be Mountain Magic, but it definitely wasn't. The fruit where the wrong size and shape, and it wasn't at all blight resistant.

                  • Cut down the rest of my potato plants, and one more outdoor tomato, plus removed most of the leaves from the remaining outdoor tomato plants. They're getting blight quite bad this year, despite being blight resistant. Although so far at least very few fruit are becoming infected; it's just the leaves and stems.

                    • Pruned the plum trees.
Went to the allotment just before dusk and did a load of watering. Saw our resident fox there again; it's very tame and will happily walk around just a few metres away. Also saw a bat.

                        • Planted lettuce into buckets they'll stand in the GH when the tomatoes have finished.

                            • Lots of tidying up. Cleared and composted the pea and squash plants, weeded beds and did some cutting back of tomato plant leaves. Also added some canes to the raspberry bed as they are getting so tall and dropping so make it harder to pick.

                              • Mowed the lawns, took forever cutting through the wildflower bit that I leave to grow, but 2 days and 4 batteries later and it's done.
Potted on dianthus, wallflowers, hollyhocks, penstemon, echinacea, eryngium, aquilegia, and achillea which are all for a new flower bed I need to get ready.
Had a bit of a tidy round the potting table and bought stuff undercover as we might finally be getting some rain! Hoorah!
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
