Pricked out my mixed lettuce plants.
planted trailing geraniums in my window boxes.
Planted out the rest of my sweetpeas.
Did a bit of weeding .

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I got a big 200 litre barrel the other day, and today I turned it into a water butt and installed it behind my greenhouse at the allotment.
I dug up all of the runner bean roots from last year and kept the best ones to pot up.
Also did a bit more digging.

Then at home I potted up some sprouted cucumber and gherkin seeds.

Busy day. Hubby built the Ikea shelving unit I’m going to use for next few months in the gh. Lots of pricking out of cabbage and broccoli seedlings, sowed more peas in root trainers and tidied up my strawberries removing some wee caterpillars.

Cleared a new area for a raised bed, probably going to move the strawberries into it as they currently have a big bed which I'd rather use for veg.

                    • Sowed some beetroot, and did some more digging.
I also dug out last year's cape gooseberry plants, which seem still to be alive despite the cold winter, and transplanted them.

                      • Dug dandelions out of the lawn while MrP cut the grass. Reorganised my potato and lettuce buckets.
Set up the cold frame for hardening off plants, it’s made more GH space.

                        • Yesterday I mowed the lawns and removed the last wooden posts that were used around the veg beds, have pushed them under the hedges to rot down, rotten side up so the Robins could search for grubs. Later on I began assembling 3 old link-a-bord beds 2x1m as a single higher bed, only to find I am missing the connecting parts for the last bed, they must be in the garden somewhere...

                          • After checking for bird nests we removed a dead clematis, it’s left the wall looking a bit bare.

                            • Found the missing parts to my link-a-bord beds and got it assembled and levelled. Threw in lots of old cherry logs and bags of assorted shreddings to reduce the amount of compost required. Will try to get it filled tomorrow. Then just need to decide what to plant, it's 18 inches high so I think I can get away with most things.
After that I finally pruned my dogwood and got whacked on the nose by an evil bramble which resulted in my top being covered in blood and a lot of swearing!

                              • Did a load more digging at the allotment. I've now got two of three big beds fully dug, and the other big bed about two-thirds done.

Then at home I potted up some sweet potato cuttings, and repotted some tomatoes and peppers.
