What I did today 2023.

Finished digging over the garden veg patches, and planted a squash and sweet potato plant.
Potted up two cucumber plants in big tubs.
Sowed some dill.

Planted out my sweetcorn. So that’s pretty much all my veg out apart from cauliflowers and kale that won’t go out for a while.

Some seed sowing then I planted out courgettes and repotted a bay tree.

Pricked out my cauliflowers into bigger modules.

Planted out some more sweet potatoes, some swiss chard plugs, and 13 pepper plants at the allotment.

Planted out the baby Sweetcorn and weeded the onion beds

Ah poop my onions have started bolting. Particularly the red ones will need to lift them.

Potted on two more cucumbers that have decided they do want to live after all.

Potted up self seeded Lemon balm then pulled up forget me nots before they set seed.

Made a start on planting up what will be my "hot" bed, reds through to yellows. Got the mina lobata and dahlias in so far.
Planted mirabilis.

Potted up 10 pepper plants in big pots at home, and sowed some more sweetcorn.

Planted out the first two tomato plants but wrapped a net curtain around them because it’s still a bit cold over night.

Potted on the courgettes and tomatillos, planted the new blackcurrant bushes, planned where the new elderflower bush will go. Moved one of the just- planted currant bushes because I didn’t leave enough space in between them…
Mixed the claggy compost from the aerobin with the dry cheap peat free compost to make something reasonable-looking and sieved it.
Set up new bins for storing small amounts of seed compost and compost ready for action.

Potted on lettuce and sowed more. Took cuttings of a carnation saved from the last chance saloon at local shop.
Did a lot of pot watering. Am doing a weak seaweed feed every few days as soil is too concrete to plant out into. Although I will have to regardless by mid month as on hols.
Picked first sweet peas.

Planted out the last 2 courgettes, moved self seeded Lemon Balm to a border next to the shed it can be competition for the Forget me nots.

Planted out 6 more sweet potato plants (a new variety I'm trying this year), 4 okra plants, 5 cape gooseberries, 8 kale plants, and a pot of leeks (made for two 6 foot rows).
