Watered the greenhouse, finished weeding the asparagus bed, removed some more diseased leaves from the peach (hopefully most of it now), and fed the peach and the asparagus.
I also have two watermelons developing, which I put in net bags to protect from the slugs. No normal melons as yet, but they have plenty of female flowers, so hopefully not too long.

Potted on all my tomatoes (20). Thought with 3 x 50l compost I would have enough to put them in their final pots but it wasn’t so half in final pots and the rest in bigger pots. Also potted on my scotch bonnet and Hungarian hot wax chillis. Took hours!Last edited by annie8; 25-06-2023, 08:41 PM.

Watering every day. Yesterday I planted out tomato twenty three, pink Bulgarian. Also put up the second runner bean teepee, planted six beans & a courgette. I’m still planting everything, lettuce is germinating so I took the net cover off. It was quite windy yesterday, tied the tomatoes & cucumbers to the canes, they’re growing fast. I put BFB round the tomatoes, peppers & squash. Earthed up the latest planted charlottes again,I’m using all old compost, gave them all seaweed feed. I need to buy some tomato fertiliser….Location : Essex

Finally got around to thinning my last (and biggest) plum tree today. Took me an hour. The number of fruit on it was absolutely ridiculous. They were hanging from the tree like bunches of grapes. I reckon I've removed about 90% of what was on there, and I think there are probably still too many.

In GH put peppers and chillis in final pots and potted on Brussels sprouts to get them a bit bigger before they go out. Cleared the broad beans and replanted with leeks.
Watching the La Diva cucumber which so far is living up to it’s name with no fruit set yet. Back to reliable Beth alpha next year unless it gets it’s act together fast.

My two diva cucumber plants keep giving male flowers,I keep pinching them off, never usually happens it must’ve been the weather. Planted tomato twenty seven yesterday King Humbert, planted up my wall baskets with haum gelbe tomato, orange balm & dainty Marietta marigold (I didn’t sow petunia this year & I didn’t want to buy plants so I used what I’ve got,it’ll be alright,I have got some nasturtium seedlings that would look good trailing down but I’ll leave them where they are because of aphids covering them & looking not good at eye level). Planted out another courgette plant & surrounded it with eggshell because it’s in a dodgy area for slugs, loads of ground spreading plants, not weeds lol (some are weeds ).Location : Essex
