Have you started sowing this year yet? If so, what have you sown? It's too hot for lettuce here in the summer, but I'll following this spring and later in the year.
I'm planning to look at my seeds too this weekend. I bought loads for sowing last year and then nothing happened. Most should still be viable, I'm guessing. Getting quite excited. Really looking forward to this year, though the weeding will be horrendous.
I'll just want 2-3 to live on the windowsill for sandwich leaves We only grew at the plot last year & it's such a nuisance to not have any to grab when you don't want a whole head
We've actually decided to grow all our lettuce (apart from maybe a few surplus) at home this year - we seem to give so many away (although it's nice to share, we grow too many at the plot). We've only got a small yard at home so no open ground to use but have acquired a really long trough style thingy which looks like it'll be just the ticket for outside
Yesterday the first of my lettuce seedling popped their heads up. I've put a foil covered piece of card around the tray hopefully they won't get to leggy.
