  • different ways to say vegetable garden plan

I am doing some historical research on "vegetable garden planning".
I am looking for mostly diagrams from different era from 20 th century
but the problem I am facing finding correct search term for finding them.
here is a list of some search terms Are used so far. in various databases from
    newspaper,books and magazines.
    vegetable garden
    vegetable garden
    kitchen garden
    war garden
    victory garden
    allotment garden
    dig for victory
    paired with
the word diagram, plan, planning. graphic, etc

the list above is not complete list of the terms I have tried.

I was hoping that you all might give me some more ideas for search terms.
who knew there were so many way to ways to say basically same thing.

I am also looking for vegetable garden
diagram/plans from the UK and AU of any era. from books, newpapers and pamphlets.
so you get an idea of what i am looking for..
here is copy of diagram/plan found in
    the "1942-11-07 Staffordshire Newsletter" p. 6

You may find the search term "crop rotation" opens up a few more options.

The English translation of Gertrud Franck's book Companion Planting uses a number of terms such as 'row crop cultivation', 'garden layout', 'cultivation plan' and 'gardening year'. There's also 'potager'.

The book is available here in pdf form: https://www.soilandhealth.org/wp-con...nck/franck.pdf

Penellype sorry but crop rotation is a different thing entirely.

Snoop Puss there is a planting diagram in the book but sadly
who ever scanned it at such low quality the diagram is barely
          readable.

nico the three sisters Companion plan in the link is badly designed..

though the terms you all suggested good but they have
not resulted in no new diagrams.from, book an newspaper
          database.

There might be clearer diagrams on the internet if you search the phrases given, other people may have diagrams in their blogs etc it just takes a lot of searching online.

Jungle Jane the problem with your suggestion. I am not interested in blogs,
websites. I am looking at electric book and newspaper databases. that is
why i am looking for different way it said. since normal search engines
              do not search these databases.

mothhawk yes i have searched the british newspaper archives.
the diagram i put in my first post is from there. i found maybe 8
diagrams in that archive. in USA newspaper archives I found
more 250+ diagrams.in same range from years between
1900-2000.. that is why I asked for other ways to same
basic ideas in different words since uk and USA english can be very
different in this circumstance.. to use an archive like that you have
to know what search terms to use.

The reason that I suggested crop rotation is that most garden plans from the 20th century included it. You might try Victorian garden plan which might give you some results from the early 20th century. Potager might produce something too.

Maybe try words like horticulture, organic garden design,no dig gardening, square foot garden plan, these terms should bring up designs from books.
