kale leaves turning white

My curly kale leaves seem to be going white and shrivelling up. Why is this, and am right cutting them off when this happens ?

I have had the same with kohlrabi. The new leaves have begun to come through fine now.
The weather has been very poor for getting almost everything going this year.
Just watch the new leaves that have started forming after transplanting.

It looks like sunscorch. Those leaves will never recover, but it shouldn't happen to the newer leaves so the plant should grow out of it.

Ok, thanks for confirming folks. I will just cut them off and hope for the best.

Looks like heat. Should be ok but make sure they are getting enough water.

Looks fine to me. It's quite a bit bigger than last time.
