  • Failing Lollo Lettuce

Well, here I am again with more tales of woe. Simple healthy Lollo lettuce seedlings grown in a small pot, potted on into this hanging tin of compost and this!!!!!! Absolutely feel like giving up.

And why oh why does this stupid site say "please upload at least one photo" when it has already been uploaded, and it can be seen in the insert cache ?

Where were you keeping the seedlings before you planted them out? Because those symptoms look kind of like sun scorch, which will happen with soft-leaved plants if they are suddenly put outside somewhere that gets full sun after having been under cover for a while.

They were in the kitchen window that gets no sun. Then put outside in an area that isn't in sun.

Outside is still a lot brighter than inside, even if it's somewhere not in full sun. I'm fairly sure they've gotten sun scorched. Lettuce are particularly prone to it.

Well there are still others I have potted into a larger pot in reserve and put outside in full sun on the garden table at the same time and they have not died, or showing signs of going that way so sunlight or being outside can't be the issue.

They look like their stems have been broken - birds will peck at them. If you're really unlucky pigeons will jump on them!
