Mystery squash

Anybody know what sort of squash this might be? Came out of a packet of butternut seeds, but clearly isn't one! Looks a bit pumpkiny wumpkiny but it's the wrong shape!

That does certainly look like a pumpkin (you can get oval ones like that).
Are there any flowers or flower buds left on the plant it grew on? The sepals on Butternut flowers look different from those of pumpkins or other squashes, and are quite distinctive.

Ah OK I didn't know you could get oval ones, thanks. No flowers or buds left I'm afraid, the plant has pretty much shrivelled up now. I do have a pumpkin plant but the normal round ones, so I guess a rogue seed has got into one of the packets in the seed factory. Easily done I imagine.
