Greenhouse Beds Or Container Growing?

I've been pondering gardening things a lot recently and one of my main ponderings has been whether it would be a good idea to switch from growing in pots in my 8 x 6 greenhouse to making beds instead.
I think the main benefits would be buying less compost, less watering and taller plant growth.
But are there any negatives by growing in beds in an 8 x 6 greenhouse?

Peanut I grow in beds and can’t think of any negatives.
Watering easier especially when we go away for a few days, having auto vents means no one needs to come to see to my GH.

I used to grow in beds in our greenhouse.
All beds dug down to about 9” and filled with a mix of top soil and potting compost. Freshly replaced every Spring
Never had any problems either.

Where tomatoes are concerned my trials show the crops are almost the same, whether in a pot or the soil. Watering is about the same for me as well, just remember to crop rotate and feed the soil with moisture retaining manure yearly. I have done a series of videos on the subject if you have the time or inclination to watch them and you can see how I get on.

I grow in a raised bed in the greenhouse, this year was the third year with the same soil, and as I didn't have a very good crop with the tomatoes was going to change the soil, it would have been done the past two or three days but due to the heavy rain that has fallen here its not been done, as I have no problems with disease in the soil I am now thinking of topping up with garden compost and a covering of seaweed, i think the poor tomato crop was due to growing a squash in the same bed, that plant finished up being huge, so possibly used up more of the neutrants in the soil, as Nicos said top up with fresh soil and compost every spring as your soil level will go down, burnie has recommended crop rotation, which I don't do, as I only have the one bed and of course changing the soil is equivalent to crop rotation, but will try and find his vidios to see his results

Found the vidio burnie, I like the idea of growing peas in the greenhouse, would definitely give me an earlier crop, so will definitely give that a go next spring, and is that a rihno greenhouse?

Glad you liked it, yes it is a Rhino, I was recommended it from a gardener in Fife from another forum, we went to her garden for a look at it before buying, it's a 12 x 8 which looks huge when it's empty, but we gardeners soon fill them don't we?

Glad you liked the video, there is a whole series of them along with bits of wildlife filming and steam trains too, might be worth a look in the depths of winter when there's nothing on the telly. They are really aimed at new gardeners rather than serious pro's like on here lol, more of a sowing ideas of what I do, rather than me trying to instruct, mainly because I make a lot of it up as I go along.
Nearly forgot, my wife found the Barn Owl online, the sculptor made it for us for a wedding anniversary present to ourselves.

I just grew onward, in one of the earlier videos I do go on about them for a while, I did a bit of a trial on pea seed growing lol
