Thanks for the spreadsheet compliments!
...however, like all systems, you need to remember to update it as you go and I have to use it in conjunction with a block plan (in excel too), and to remember to put the dates on the labels when I sow.
If you don't, you end up with a number of rows in the spread sheet with same crop and variety but with different sowing dates, and that can be confusing.
Anyone who wants a copy emailing across, let Bob or me know.Attached Files

Was never a great record keeper (I usually get mid way through January then loose interest.)

Databases are for penpushers not gardeners, too much like cyber gardening for my liking! Would rather do a days digging!
But hey........if cyber gardening floats your boat.....go for it!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Snadge I must confess to being the same as you. However last year when I gave away all my melons thinking I was giving away courgettes etc really fedded me up off. So this year I shall be labelling and keeping records in Hazel's spreadsheet.Bob Leponge

well the reason i want one is it will be my first season, and i am terrible at remembering when to plant what, and half of it goes in too late, or too early and dies before i can get it out.
need to be more organised this time.Last edited by BrideXIII; 10-12-2008, 06:26 PM.Vive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09

I used to work with both Excel and Access at different times. But for my gardening? I jot down what I've done and when, and later just type them into a word file - probably not as efficient as the spreadsheet but as I don't keep records in great detail it does for me.
I think I'd love to be someone who keeps better records but I don't think that's ever going to happen. My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)
