Last PSB picked on Sunday. I reckon we might have got another week or so out of it but it was lifted to make way for potatoes - then quite annoyingly we didn't end up planting spuds that far up the bed .

More PSB & Rhubarb yesterday. PSB is trying its best to flower now so I'm thinking this weekend is likely going to be our last harvest - it's highly likely that it will be getting pulled up then anyway.

Kale flower sprouts are a bonus to growing your own they're not something you see is shops.

Lettuce, kale/florets and herbs today when it stops raining.

Just a few sage leaves for my casserole.

Bren - we’ve been eating those too. In fact, the other day I also picked the smaller leaves too and they were delicious.

Andraste I can’t grow as decent head on cauliflowers so maybe I’d do better with a nine star broccoli instead.

That pic looks very much like what the rapini/broccoli rabe that failed to grow for me as an autumn crop last year was supposed to look like! Thanks for clearing that up for me - I'll definitely give them a go if our kale bolts as we're both fans of broccoli & you seem to have had a good ongoing harvest for quite a few weeks.

The guys at Chilterns were the ones that made me doubt myself - they threw this link at me: https://www.chilternseeds.co.uk/item_1719b_flower_sprout_or_kalette_seeds - I must admit I'm intrigued by these kalette mini cabbages they're flogging............if I can shoehorn some into next years planting plan but I'm also coveting peanut 's nine star broc (been on the wish list for a few years that one).

Andraste you got it right, it’s when the kales going to seed but before they turn into yellow flowers.
    They taste rather like broccoli.

I finally googled kale flower sprouts this morning Bren In Pots as I'd never heard of them. At first I thought 'ah, so Bren's kale has bolted but she's making use of the flowers' but as the harvest has continued it became clear I'd got the wrong end of the stick How big are these mini cabbage thingies?

What I think will be the last of the kale flower sprouts along with chard to go in this evenings stir fry.
