        • bit of a lazy day at the plot on Sunday as OH wasn't on form (funeral of a close friend = 4 day hangover ). Mostly a lot of harvesting. Did manage about 3 buckets of weeding nevertheless. Otherwise looking at stuff, planning (again - we'll decide where the strawberries are going to be moved to one day - maybe lol) & wondering if we might have a calabrese head ready at the weekend. Remembered to lift the last few garlic which was more hard work than the bulb size was worth.

              • Saturday.
I potted on a couple of kohl rabi. Only two to germinate so will do more.
Also pricked out orange , bright lights and rhubarb chard
Pricked out 40 little gem lettuce, yes 40. None have germinated this year so I over sowed this new pack of seeds

                Sunday.
So far today I have clipped off some courgette leaves, fed and garlic sprayed
Have fed, watered and garlic'd rudbeckia and dahlias too
                Watered salads
                Fed some other things

                Northern England.

                • Yesterday I trimmed the front lawn edge, haven’t mowed it this year yet, pulled up the wildflowers going to seed, there’s still some white & yellow flowers I’ve left,I’ll mow it very soon but there’s a good amount of insects enjoying the space. I’ve been watering my plum shape tomatoes twice a day to avoid BER. I need to water a lot of plants later,I heard it’s going to be about 34 degrees tomorrow.
Today I’ve just gone out there to top up the bird seed & mealworms,cleaned/refilled birdbath & the other bowls of water out there.

                  • I spent the weekend diy-ing a birdhouse/dovecote to go on top of my wooden arch on the allotment. Quite pleased with it considering that I pretty much made it up as I went along.
It may fall foul of allotment rules though as it is a rather high structure now. Let's see.

                    • Plenty of weeding (will it never end?) & harvesting. No more mangetout - the plants are looking sad so what's left will hopefully be seed for next year. Last of the broadies today too. Tied in the squash again & picked off any rotters to give the rest a better chance.
