Put 3 different summer squash to chit a week ago, very old seed some of it. The reliable green bush courgette has chitted, but no sign from the others yet, but I'll give them a couple more days before tossing them.

Haven't sowed anything since my greenhouse crops but I made up for it today.
Early PSB, Summer PSB, Tuscan kale, kalettes, wok broc and collard greens.
Rainow chard, peppermint chard, tatsoi and January King cabbage.
And more white lisbon and purplette spring onions, funky disco beetroots and Tom thumb lettuce.Last edited by peanut; 22-04-2024, 09:28 AM.Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Potted up the chitted Cucumber 'Marketmore' & Squash 'Uchiki Kuri' yesterday (in the nick of time as they were starting to secure themselves to the kitchen roll & the cucs were about to start cracking their seed leaves ).
Today I put some Gigantes beans to chit.

Climbing frenchies have sprouted so will be moving them into little pots to grow in tomorrow.
No sign of the parsnips chitting yet (will check the loo roll sown ones again & order fresh seed ASAP if there's no life showing).
The gigantes started swelling up quite quickly but no shoots just yet. I am however thinking that cheap kitchen roll does a much better job than the thicker stuff for chitting as I've had to re-wet them twice. Or maybe these big fat beans are just logically going to soak up more water than smaller seedsLocation: SE Wales about 1250ft up

Two sorts of achocha, basil, kohl rabi, pak choi, two sorts of parsley, radish, mixed sedums, spring onions and an unknown packet of mixed succulents.
The achocha, sedums and succulents are just for fun, to see what they come out like.Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)

Put runner beans and CFB to chit. I used to get them going at the beginning of April, but I've been gradually starting them later each year, and they still start to produce around the same time.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.
