we went there for our honeymoon 39 years ago and we go back at least once a year but I've found a nice house with about 1 acre of garden not far from the sea ( handy for seaweed and catching tea ) ... just need the £500k to buy it

Not just a marketing ploy you old cynic. But unless you can recreate the coastal terroir conditions you won't get the same tasting spuds. Although I do recommend Lady Christl they're very tasty, but that's on our soil.

Good point there smallblueplanet. It's rare to see anyone commenting that they grew comparable Int. Kidneys (seems a lot of bloggers I've noticed have tried them once & been disappointed) probably because they aren't growing them in Jersey.

me a cynic well, maybe ... I put it down to my age

I've looked at Lady Christl a few times but always ended up with Arran Pilot as thats what my dad grew 60 years ago I tend to grow in large pots these days as it easier for me and I seem to get a rediculous amount in a 30ltr tub and we don't eat that many these days (unless you count Fried or deep fried

                    Exciting news nick the grief!

We had some Pembrokeshires with our lunch yesterday (yum yum) but that's not the exciting bit.

Grown by Ian Elliott, he kindly displays the variety on the back of the bag (in very little letters) and the ones he grows are....................................
