  • Leaves falling off chilli plants

The only chillies I have had success with, still producing fruit are losing their leaves. This shouldn't be happening, especially with the plant indoors. I need to keep them going to save the fruit.

I seem to recall from my attempts at overwintering that they lose their leaves below 10 C.
You say indoors but what temperature range are they experiencing ( particularly at night and by a window?)

Lower temperatures, as Nicos says, plus lower light levels will result in leaf drop. But they should start regrowing in the spring.

Oh right, I would be well chuffed if they grew again next year. We had our kitchen done this year with insulated plasterboard on the outside walls and thick blinds which will hopefully keep them going. The other is in the cold greenhouse which I may also bring in. The only thing I am wary of is bringing in the traces of whitefly still hanging on.

Marb, the best thing for whitefly is to keep killing them. Really sorry to say that. And I know they'll only take to the air and come back again. But keep at it and they'll eventually disappear.
