  • Storing seed potatoes before chitting

Hello everyone! Hope you're all well.

This year, I've decided to order my maincrop seed potatoes early. I always leave it to the last minute and I'm always disappointed that everywhere has sold out of my favourite varieties. Anyway, what is the best method of storing them before I start to chit 'em? I've searched on the Interweb and I find some sites that say store them in the "dark"; some sites that they say store them in "light".

So, I thought I'd ask you guys. What is the best way of storing these little beauties before I start to chit, and should it be in a cold room too?

Any help that you might be able to provide would be very much appreciated.

The fridge is the best place if you have space.
If not, somewhere cool and light (the shoots will grow long in the dark).
