I'm just thinking the exact same thing! All my seeds for the year have arrived and I'm itching to get going with it! From the packet sleeves I think the earliest things to plant from me selection is russian giant sunflowers, onion seeds, peas, strawberries and aubergines, all late-january indoors. Think I may plant a few sneaky sunflowers in early January to hold the plant pangs at bay.
some of us are planting peas indoors at the moment, pea tops are lovely in salad and stir fry.

use the search function, there are dozens of threads on sproutings. it will give you something to try while we wait for spring.
we also have a couple of experimental planting threads due in the next week or so, onions and tomatoes i think, watch out for them,. some of us are mad enough to try out of season experiments just for the fun of it.
Onions, carrots and peas will be on my planting list for early Jan followed by cabbage, broccoli and leeks mid Jan. Potatoes in bags will also be started in Jan.
Do any of you live/work near a Wasabi Japanese take-away? They sell readdy tasty beans in a little plastic pot with a clear cover - they are perfect for sowing seedlings in!
