I planted tatties (spuds) for Christmas in the polytunnel back in October. Thought I was a bit late, but was waiting for space to be freed up. Since then, I have watered gently and weeded, but not a sign of greenery or leaves. I thought the lot had gone! But wow, Christmas Eve I decided to give a dig and there they were, beautiful new potatoes, all attached to the original seed tattie with not a sign of any roots, stalks or leaves. They were the sweetest new potatoes I have ever tasted. Spoke to my local garden expert and he had never heard of it. Is it a fluke? Think it would work again?

Congratulations on your unexpected arrival ! Never heard of this before but, what the hell, if it worked once, it must be worth trying again next year. What variety did you plant ?
Congrats
