    • My ones sown mid Jan and mid Feb are both flowering. The older one is about twice as bushy and more flowers. The mid Feb one has three pea-sized tomatoes developing though.

      • Thanks Barley, I think I will try both methods you mentioned and see what results I get from them.

Lavender Lou, the tomatoes I sowed in December didn't come to anything - I've given up on them at this stage.

I feel I'll try again, though, and try to give the December sowings more light and warmth (I had them by a window but it was cold there and limited sun hours).

Meantime, the later sowings - on the 6th March and 11th March are doing well - nowhere near as tall as others' whose pictures I've seen, but they look healthy and well.

Good luck with the later lots.

            • Edwardo, your tomatoes look fine in those pots. You'll probably find the flowers appear at the same time as the roots fill the pot and they can go into their final pots then.

                • Got flowers on my Brandywine and on the cross I did between Sungold and a heritage tom. I sowed these earlier than the rest to give them a long season. Everything else is pottering along at about 3-5" high.

                    • Very late start, planted on 22/04. Doing ok. I'm hoping for a good summer, as last time I grew tom's in my greenhouse, although I stopped watering mid september apart from an occasional splosh, I got ripe fruit through to the end of October, so I'm going to see how late I can conntinue to harvest. I realise that my lack of care may have caused a "last gasp" attempt to reproduce causing the late fruiting, so will probably go a similar route this year.

                      • 2 trusses on my Grushovkas when I came back from hols, and the first one has 3 flowers on it.

All went into the new greenhouse today, most had been hardened off inside plastic containers but my 2 indoors ones had been inside an unheated house all week, so I'm taking a chance.

OH asked today what that white flat thing is in the kitchen. I told him it was the windowsill. He had forgotten what it was...bless.

                            • Thanks Zazen for this thread. I've enjoyed it immensely! I now have baby toms on all of the early sowings Although the toms sown a month and a half later are just starting to flower, I've effectively gained about 3 weeks on the later sowings. This kept the itchy fingers almost at bay and prevented me from starting somethings WAY too soon
