    • My Robin F1 which are cuttings from overwintered plants are flowering well and the first tiny tomatoes are forming. I will have to remember to take late cuttings to overwinter again as I can't get more of this seed.

      • Excellent idea to keep F1 varieties growing shirley!

This kept the itchy fingers almost at bay and prevented me from starting somethings WAY too soon
          No prob RT.

My first 2 toms have 3 trusses on and the first 2 flowers dropped off at the weekend and toms are underneath. Not as early as last year but I didn't really mollycoddle these - and they are racing ahead now the warmer weather is sort of here.

I put about 15 non-greenhouse toms out at the weekend as well......a good feeling and if they get 'hurt' out there I've got loads more to replace them.

          • I have 5 Sungold toms across 2 plants fully ripened and just waiting to be picked.
I'm holding back in picking them as I'm hoping that they will encourage others to follow

            • I love this thread and I'm so happy to see new posts - my tomatoes are at various stages of growth, no flowers yet but they all look healthy.

They were sown in early March, with two extra plants bought in Lidl a couple of weeks ago. The Lidl boyoes are the biggest, that's why I bought them.

              • I've planted most of mine out now (too big for inside). I'm hoping the extra sun will start them ripening!

                • All of my december sown ones are now about 5 feet high, all with flowers and looking good.
I'd forgotten how big they get so the greenhouse is slightly overrun with toms... and I have given loads away too.

Must make mental note for next year that the greenhouse doesn't get bigger just because I wish it would!

Not sure how long to expect between flowers and fruit.

The others may have toobut it was getting dark and I couldn't see very well.

                        • I'm (im)patiently waiting for a colour change. I think Tigerella will win out of mine, as it's usually earlier anyway.

                          • Started half a dozen Gardeners Delights off on my windowsill last November.
They got a bit spindly but I potted on and put them into the greenhouse in early April and have been eating the ripe 'uns for two weeks now - lots of green 'uns and flowers too.
I grow them in the black buckets that florists get overrun with, they're only too glad to get rid.
My 6x6 greenhouse is stuffed full now so I put the pots out every day and back in at night.

Well, here it is, my first ripe tomato from my tigerella tomatoes, planted 27th Dec. It's not been an easy or trouble free journey, but worthwhile, as I've several more beginning to change colour. The golden sunrise, planted at the same time are not so advanced.

                              • Excellent. It was a year ago tomorrow that my Aurora was harvested as a red tomato - how's that for timing!

Would you do it again though - that's the question?

See you after Christmas for the answer
