Of all 7 varieties sown, the 'legend' toms have just popped up! I too will do my main planting in march, but a dozen or so seeds (if they germinate!) won't hurt!!

Happy to say all my tommies have germinated!! Albeit a bit leggy already!! Is this how everyones elses are or just mine? They are in the sunniest part of the house in the massive bay windows so I couldn't give them anymore light if I tried! Would it help if I put them in a room which has the light left on all night? (The landing has a low energy light bulb on all night for the kiddies).

i have moved them to the back window, in front of me as we speak, mainly cos this window has a rad under it and the kitchen one although it gets the sun, hasn't, it was pretty cold on the tiles.Vive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09

Planted 10 "Gardners Delight" on 27th, B&Q multipurpose compost in a heated propogator (donated by a former colleague). First one was through on the 2nd all through by the 3rd, I have now removed heat from the propogator but seedlings remain in place. I'm monitoring growth for the next few days before transfering to 3" pots when seedlings about 3-4" tall, these will be covered in some type of plastic cover. This will either be a bag or a 2ltr pop bottle cut off at the top.

i moved mine to a warmer windowsill, the kitchen one was too cold.
i have rigged a temporary shelf over the rad by the lounge window, so its a sort of heated propgator now, seems to have helped.Vive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09

Emilymup, mine look a bit leggy too but that's what I expected. When I transplant them to their 3" pots I'll plant them right up to their seed leaves and that will help.
I really don't think leaving a light on all night will help. What we need is longer days.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
