Hi all, i have a lovely woodland garden but this means it gets odd hours of sunshine at different times-short of cutting down all the (very) mature trees and digging up shrubs i'm having to be a bit creative when it comes to veggie growing. Things is..i have a lovely sunny flat roof on the extension, easily accessed through my bedroom window (the neighbours are lovely and already think I'm barmy so that shouldn't matter). Has anyone ever tried a rrof garden before? and if so what do i need to take into consideration, also do you think it is a viable idea or have i just lost the plot (literally)!

You would have to watch out for the weight but no reason why you couldn't try a few containers to see how it goes. You don't want to encourage any puddles of water forming as that is a killer for a flat roof.Last edited by shirlthegirl43; 02-01-2009, 10:17 AM.Happy Gardening,
