The hardiest vegetable?

Hi, I've just had my veg patch installed by a local company. They gave me quite a bit of info on how to grow different types but I wanted to know what is the hardiest vegetable there is! So I get a good yield!

Chard? kale? Both mine standing up well, as are the leeks. PSB doing ok now the caterpillars are gone, not ready yet though.

I think Garlic. The colder it is the better it grows. It's double hard.

Anyway, I'm going with garlic - I reckon if it can stand up to me, it can stand up to anything

Mine have managed to survive so far and is growing really well, despite my best efforts to kill it off.

Onions, garlic or broad beans, IMVHO.

I'd say Kale, but really, hardiness doesn't necessarily equate to productivity - everything has it's correct season. You get the best yield by growing the right veg at at the right time

I'm going to be Devil's Advocate. What do you mean by hardy? If we are talking temperature then there are several. Winter cabbage? kale? swedes (yuk)? garlic? Or do we mean will grow in any soil? Sandy, clay? Sarzwix is right. You can't just say 'I want to grow something hardy, what should I grow?' Grow something you want to grow (eat?) and then say 'How do I grow it?'

I think this was more about putting a link to a website, but I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully John will be back and prove me wrong.
