              • Dear Tattieman,

I bought these seed potatoes about 6 weeks ago and have had then in our spare room chitting, where some, over time have gone rotten and leaked a black liquid and I have thrown them away, but I still have a nice amount left.

I have am going to grow them in potatoe barrels would you be able to tell me how soon you think I could plant these:

I hope the attachement of my picture works

                Thanks

                • Edwardo82 they look as if you could plant them any time now if you like. Chits are strong so if the weather is good just pop them in. It sounds like those potatoes had a nip of frost on them to make them rot like that. Hope that helps.

                  • Potatoes in bags

                    Hi there

Once I have put my tatties in bags, can I keep them in them on a patio rather than in the soil as it says in the tattieman's video?

                    • Yes indeed, as long as its a sunnish spot etc

                      • Cheers Tattieman,

Strange you should mention the frost as they have been inside all the time. But it's taught me to keep a close eye on them as they chit.

                        Thanks again

                        • pop up potatoes 2

some of you may remember a previous thread i started about growing potatoes in pop up garden bags. They were planted up 8th march and this is what they look like today. you can just see those little shoots popping up out of the compost. these are belle de fontenay and royal kidney. where's the butter. woo hoo.

                            • Mine are on my patio. I have just raised them a bit off the ground to help with drainage, put two bits of wood beneath each bag.
