No success with parsnips!

Last year in April I sowed some parsnip seed in damp compost in a clear plastic salad box (You could use anything without holes - this was useful as it had a clear body and lid and I could see what was going on). I kept it in the airing cupboard and by the time I'd remembered to check it I had lots of germinated seed, which I then planted out. I'm still harvesting parsnips now!
