    Blight resistant spuds

I grew Sarpo Mira potatoes for the second time last year - I will recommend them to everyone who wants a main crop spud without the blight probs, mine finally died down around mid November leaving a lot of very large spuds. Quite a good flavour as well – The first time I grew these I was rather unhappy with the cooking side of them, they both boil to mush but for some reason the Axona breaks down very quickly into mush which put me off them but steaming and pretty much anything else works fine.

When I weigh up the pros and cons, all you have to do is stick them in, earth them up and forget about them – marvellous!

They have a very long growing season (where I am) so I use soot when planting and 2 courses of nematodes later on in the summer and autumn to keep the slug damage down.

Jiving on down to the beach to see the blue and the gray, seems to be all and it's rosy-it's a beautiful day!

I grew ferline tomatos last year and they were certainly still going strong when all my other plants were dying from blight. They were also extremly tasty! I've got 2 seeds from last year left and some f2's from last years fruit.

Grew Ferline and Legend last year. Would recommend ferline but did'nt think much of Legend and the crop was poor. Good Luck whatever you try.
