These may be of interest

I have just found these ready-made spreadsheets.

One is for " how-much-to-plant " it works out how much seed to sow, based on how many in your family and what yeld to expect - looks pretty good.

The other " garden-planner " works out what dated you should plant based on the last expected frosts in your area ...........not sure about this one but there both free.....

They look as if they could be useful but they're really for the American climate - would it work here? I think I might use it as a baseline and see where we go from there

I presume that "plant" in this context actually means "sow" as the author seems to be talking about buying seeds.

And you're right, Maureen - it is not clear what region of the US this is for and it may not be entirely suitable for some UK areas.
