  • One ton of spuds from 6 seed spuds???

As I was flicking through my victoriana seed catalogue when I came across Potato 'Heavy weight cropper'

Apparently Pentland Crown planted 6ft apart and following a special growing formulae can produce a ton of spuds from 6 seed potatoes

    Has anyone tried it???

    Not tried it...

Would you want a ton of tatties?

I've got about 20lb of plums and am struggling to do stuff with them (jam, crumble, eat them, jam, crumble, cake...!

I suppose you could give them away, but it sounds like a ridiculous amount to grow in an allotment/veg garden!

Mind you, since my Christmas tatties haven't even sprouted, I'm a long way off growing a ton!!

Wouldn't know where to store them would have to eat nothing but spuds.

Just wondered if anyone had ever had massive yields like that, well not quite like that.

As for the plums make WINE its really easier than you would think I only started this year cause I had 100lbs of cherries to shift. Theres a book by C berry with simple easy to follow recipes in once you make your first lot you'll never look back!!

A wee touch of venison, some ingins or carrot if you like...one tonne of tatties should just about do for three ceilidhs...

hmm very suspect, why don't they publish their 'special planting procedure' ? Seems like a bit of a gimmick
