Got a copy from my local at Deepdale Retail, Preston - glad I didn't park too far away as it's a heavy book

Normally you can do this if you ask them. I know my Mum does it in her local store, Oop North.

Picked mine up today and staff were very friendly, but they said that to get the offer it had to be done on-line, as it's not an item that they stock, so it's not a store offer.

Just noticed that they charged my bank the £6 this morning, logged into WHSmiths and the book has now entered "In Despatch Process"
