  • Hungry plants

Hi all, I am after a bit of advise on what everyone uses for feed on their veg.

At the moment the only thing I use is water with exception to the tomatoes, peppers and chillies getting a feed with Tomato Feed. I want to try and keep it organic as much as I can (I had to use slug bullets earlier in the year)

What other plants need a feed and what do I use

Hi Silverfox, I usually just throw handfuls of chicken manure pellets around all my veg. & also use tom. food or seaweed food & garlic barrier granules which feed & are supposed to deter slugs & snails(only limited success on that front in my garden!). I've also used coffee grounds which I've picked up free from Starbucks this year (they seem to have run out near me now though) as a top dressing. As you can tell my method is just to try everything without being too specific!

If you want a GP organic feed try Comfrey Liquor. If you buy a few plants they will supply you with enough to keep you going each year bvut it will be a couple of years before they are in full prodution. In the meantime you can buy comfrey pellets that you mix with water or I use Maxicrop which is seaweed based thats OK as well.

There are loads of them around try looking on Tamar Organics or the HDRA website.
