you may have to germinate them early indoors in maybe mid pril and then if you are lucky they might finish in mid September outdoors

the choc habaneros are one of the hottest chilis in the world 600,000 SHC ( scoville heat chart) i tried eating it raw at 2.AM once ( i was bored) it took a good 20 minutes for the heat to die down in my mouth,, i had to drink atleast a pint of milk ( semi skimmed)

wow! forewarned is forearmed as they say, i have just been offered some white habenero seeds too.

what i want to do is get a good varied collection going to save seed from, so i can pass them on, chillies are just so easy to save from and grow, and even if you don't like to eat them, some of the more ornamental ones look lovely indoors.

That is just so true. I grow chillies every year just for their decorative value. I can't eat anything that hot and don't even like sweet peppers as they give me dreadful indigestion.

Have always grown chillis but only the milder ones, - my OH wants a nice hot variety to impress his mates with (sad), what is a good one to get?

these are the ones i ordered today from the real seed catalogue ( i love that site)

plus i still have one, partially identified and one unknown which as it has no fruit at the moment will have to wait a while.

i will list the seeds and varieties i have on the social group.

all hot apparently, except the pretty in purple which is described as 'firey hot '

i am a devil i know, i dont really buy them for heat, i just love chillies, to me you just use as much or as little as you need, but they look so cool hanging in the kitchen or preserved in jars, or in sweet chilli sauce ( which i am addicted to)or..or..or well they are just lovely full stop.

in some cultures espically the Indian sub continent they burn chilis to ward of evil spirits even to this day , sometimes you see chilis tied in cotton strings hanging on doors to break bad spells... they do that when there is a new born child as well, incase it gets jinxed by bad spirits, they burn chilis infront of the child...

I have been know to do something a little similar with chillies myself, for warding off nasties

Sposed to be shiney black and very hot they look really cool in the picture - this will be my first year growing them.
