Chilli Obsession !!

...and i tried so hard, honest, but my addiction just won't be controlled!

there was me quietly doing my sowing for the chilli control trial, and wondering why so many of my varieties are now missing ( long story) , and i got to mourning some of the varieties and made the mistake of going online.

There i found myself on the real seed site, and am now the proud and expectant owner of:

Lantern chillis
pretty in purple
lemon drops
purple venezuelan.

i had to stop there, cos i was actually looking for

Aurora
birds eye
marbles
naga
prairie fire
rooster spur
and a rainbow one i cant remember the name of

this chilli thing is getting out of hand.
If anyone is growing the ones i am missing, let me know.
if anyone is growing ones they might like to recommend, it's not heat i am interested in so much as shapes, colours and interesting plants, please amaze me
and if anyone knows a cure for this obsession? keep it to yourself

For a really attractive plant you should try Bolivian Rainbow. The fruits point upwards and when in full production you can have fruits in yellow, green, orange, purple and red all at the same time.

Can't help you - sorry. My second Christmas tree [with tinsel] was a Alberto Rocoto that I'm overwintering. It's good to see that although it shed loads of leaves after Christmas, it's got new growth on it now. I've also got about 10 in the outdoor mini greenhouse, sans leaves and chopped back - just in case they revive once spring comes. I've got at least 20 varieties that i'm growing this year.

Oooh I'm so with you on the above! I love chillies as well! I grew 2 types last year. This year as part early trial; I have already planted 2 of each of about 4 different types all listed on Zazen's early tomatoe growing thread. I have some others to sow as well but need to see what room I have b4 I do so.

I think if someone were to put my hands behind my back and put handcuffs on me; and a blind fold I would still find a way to grow and eat more chilli's

well i may just do that later, see how much interest we get, it might help keep all us chilli maniacs in one place plus make it easier to swap varieties.

hey bride..

how about the rocoto chilli ? magnificent chili grows like a bell pepper but quite hot.. very easy to take cuttings aswell,, thick beautiful stems that can grow like a vine.. i grew some ill add pics later to show.. one of the first chilis cultivated in the world 10,000 b.c in south america

I have the chocolate habenero, seeds were a gift from a certain person in this thread

sowed some today in the moon trials.
those tepin look very like the 'marbles' i am after, i do wish they would stick to one name for these plants.

the choc habaneros are one of the hottest chilis in the world 600,000 SHC ( scoville heat chart) i tried eating it raw at 2.AM once ( i was bored) it took a good 20 minutes for the heat to die down in my mouth,, i had to drink atleast a pint of milk ( semi skimmed)

dont EAT IT RAW
