  • Fruiting and Flowering tomatoes

Last October my sister planted some salad leaf seeds, but when they grew there were 3 tomatoes in the pot. The compost was a new bag, so she doesn't know where they came from.
Anyway, being a bit of a gardener, at least she knew not to eat them. She potted them up, and has them in her south facing living room which has floor to ceiling windows. They are now in 10 inch pots, standing on the floor, and she has flowers on all 3, with fruit set on the most advanced one! Obviously she doesn't know what sort of tomatoes she will get, but is pretty pleased with them.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

That's pretty interesting. I wonder where they came from? Maybe from the factory? A bit of tomatoes seed left on the seed feeder when the salad mix went in?

Completely different seeds, my guess they came out of a humans bum and somehow got into the compost.

Very interesting that she can grow them inside in winter though. I've often wondered if it were possible, but never having floor to ceiling galss, I've never been able to try it.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

Make sure she taps the plant to get the pollen moving as there will be no bees at this time to polinate her plants

You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

That happend to me too-I ended up with a pot of lovely salad and when I took the time to take a closer look I found 5 carrots growing. Well, I didn't plant them, so hey-ho all edible.
