I think they tend to theme your lucky dip. Last year I went heavy on beans and peas (mostly beans) and got a bean lucky dip. This year I chose several kales/chards and got another kale. (My second choice) At least they know it's something you're interested in growing!

I am sort of!!One of the teachers at school handed me the pack & asked if I could "help out" with it.....need to chat about how much "help" is required of me....but feel pretty nervous as peas have never been my best success!....never seem to be able to get the supports/netting right & end up with a tangled strangled mess!!!....I have warned her of this, but don't think she believes me!!!So no doubt I'll be watching how you do it & copying your every move!!....starting with when & how you sow!!
I have had an idea that it might be nice to go in & get the kiddies making various bird scarers before we start.....I'm kind of really excited about it all....I've been keen for the school to start growing stuff since DD started. This year each class has their own little set of raised beds....it's just a whole new ball game growing with the school....when it's just for us you take on the failures knowing you'll do different the next time, whereas with the school I feel I want everything to be a success to keep the kiddies keen.

No, I decided to stick to this one...

I'll keep you posted on sowing dates etc, and my new method for growing peas. I'll describe when I've drawn it out but I found it on another website so I can't claim it's mine.

I'd missed this experiment when I perused my HSL catalogue so I've followed Andrea's link to Garden Organic but keep getting a "Members only" thingy when trying to access the pea experiment page - even though I'm logged in as a member.

            Frustration!
            Cheers

Probably a stupid question, how do you log into the members thing anyway and do you have to be a member of Gardening Organic as a whole to do it. I just subscribe to HSL and found the web site complicated and not much use but that could be I was having an off day - it took me long enough to find my membership no to select my seeds too!

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Grrr, still no joy today. zz999 how did you get registered for the Members trial - through the Internet or from the seed catalogue etc. Maybe I can go a more paper-based route?
                    Cheers

I registered online...but I've just gone in and checked and the registration for 2009 is now closed.

My Seed Guardian paperwork arrived today...so I've chosen some and will pop the request back in the post tonight.

Alison - I have no idea whether you have to be a GO member - do you get the Organic Way delivered? I suspect that if you called up with your membership number they could tell you.

I definitely get a mag off them every few months but can't remember what it's called - will check tonight and try and work it out. Thanks.

The password is usually around the editorial page.
