We grew these a couple of years ago- and nothing had happened by mid March- so we pulled them up and stuck in the spuds in their place!
Maybe we should have waited longer then?

I love psb- and it's expensive- but it was blocking my rotation.
It had put me off to be honest, but maybe we should put them on one side where outdoor toms could follow on a bit later.

Never thought they could produce as late as April!

Janeyo, what about fixing up a few old CDs. It might be enough to frighten them off. When I started my beds last year I put canes in each corner and then across the beds and suspended the CDs from strings. They swung around a bit and I think acted as a deterrent. Depends how hungry the pigeons are I suppose but might be worth a go?

I will do so tomorrow if there is any left by then! I have loads in the shed that normally get put on the cherry tree. But that didn't work last year, pigeons got them all, but the funny thing was it worked a treat the year before and we got them all. Strange.

        Thanks for reminding me
