Hi, I am thinking of getting an electric propagator to enable a head start on seedlings, but wondered what sort to get. Any advice or observations gratefully received. Paul
A bad days fishing is still better than a good day at work!
There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.
I have ordered one from Garden4less who advertise at the top of these pages. It was the 7 compartment that should fit along my windowsill. I did alot of shopping around and this did seem to be the best value, however there was a thread over the weekend with a tip off for one from B&Q. Good luck.

If you are at all good at DIY I would go for a soil warming cable and thermostat if the funds can stand it. Many years ago I started with a propagator but would need a dozen to equate to the hot bench I have just finished making. I still do use a propagator for a few months.
Whether you go for soil warming cables or a propagator pay that little bit more and go for one with a thermostat, i left my propagator [without thermostat] on in sunny conservatory and my toms nearly fried 40 degrees on the thermometer
