Thank you pigletwillie, super idea, i have a wine crate that i am going to line and sow salad leaves in, so i think that would be a nice mixture.

i grow mesclun (and saladini) just in rows in garden...have a row that weathered the snow (well the mustard has survived) but will definitely try the growing in boxes milarkie....can grow them on the terrace and wear fancy shoes instead of bovverboots whilst i care for them.......................picture of shoes to be posted shortly.
