MDF! knock up a basic 'bookcase' that sits over/against the radiator, two shelves, i have 4 all my propogators go on them, after spring they all get put away.

And isn't it for living in? - for the plants as well as people!

Absolutely brilliant, getting the extra windowsill space.

They are being kept indoors on a windowsill till they flower and fruit, Veg crazy - so no - I wouldn't do it with runners! It's to get an early crop in the house. Wait till April if you are growing beans outdoors in the usual way.

I've put in 2 pots of dwarf beans [although I'm not convinced one is a dwarf but anyway]...and this morning I've got a compost eruption and lo and behold - there are beans poking through.

Thanks PW. A star as usual.

Anyone having luck with their french beans? Mine are up and running.. I didn't have a dwarf variety, so looking forward to a leafy kitchen window.

Do you think this would work with peas as well, I have some Kelvedon Wonder left from last year and was looking for a project for the kids to do on the kitchen windowsill.

Peas work great for growing pea tops for stir-fries, salads, etc. There are some threads on here for that. Don't know if their self-fertile or not, so may have trouble getting baby peas if you grow them on.

Well I'm pretty sure they are self-fertile so I might give it a go. Thanks.

Nothing showing on mine yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing them... checking them a few times every day.
