  • Potato day in chesterfield

i've just been looking through the internet and was looking at a seed sunday's that they run in Brighton and it mentioned that they were having one in Southampton. So i continued to look and said to my OH why is it they have all these kinda things down south and never up north. So i typed it into google and low and behold they are having a Potato day in my own town:

Potato Day in Chesterfield on Sunday 22nd February 2009

It's the very first one so i hope it's a success so we can have more.

Here is a link for more info...

Great idea LL, thanks, and as Grapes seem to occasionally meet up on a regional basis this might be one for South Yorks and North Midlands folk to say hello over a coffee (potato!). Is "New Square" in the centre of Chesterfield? There's also a mega Dobbies near Chesterfield, the mega Dukeries GC not far away too, and several public gardens/parks for anyone wanting to make a day of it.... Good one. b.

Cripes, PG, are there still shows for 4 x 4s, I thought they were only suitable for breaking up these right-on days (I jest, I've got one...). There's not even 4 x 1 going to Chesterfield's Potato Day at the moment, just 3 of us max - lol, there must be more than 3 GYO gardeners in South Yorks, North Midlands - what do we need to do to spread the word? "No tarmac, no trouble". b.

there is a poster that you can download from the website and it says you can post it around your village or town. if you wanted to advisertise it more or if your on an allotment you could put one on everyone shed if you wanted.....we want there to be another next year.
