Summer Squash Yellow Bird - Any info?

Hi there,

I've been given some seeds - they're marked "Summer Squash Yellow Bird". The instructions say "Sow on edge and transplant after last frost". That's great, but not much info!

I wondered if anyone could expand on that? For example, when I should plant the seeds. Whether they will be happy in a container. If there's anything special I should know?

Any tips or hints would be appreciated - assume I know nothing and you won't be far wrong!

They're a patty pan type of summer squash, we treat ours similarly to courgettes. They tend to need a bit more warmth than courgettes and so didn't crop very well/at all last summer.

This really is a pretty little Summer Squash.
Plants are bushy and high yielding, producing heavy crops of this delicate Patty Pan type of squash which is best eaten when around 3" in diameter.
